Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.

- Fred Rogers

Our Adventurers (Happy Explorers) and Trailblazers (Station House) programs each welcome 15 children, aged 18 months to 30 months. The program encourages your little adventurer and trailblazer to make connections, caring relationships, and understand other children as they learn to explore their environment in a more purposeful way. The ratio within the classroom is one educator for every five children, which allows children to gain social skills and a sense of independence as they successfully interact with one another. Concepts such as cooperation and community are introduced while maintaining a warm, loving, caring family-like atmosphere.

Our primary goal for each of our Adventurers and Trailblazers as educators is to provide an environment where every individual feels safe, welcomed, and understood.

Together within this room we also focus on independence and language development through assisting the Adventurers and Trailblazers to:

  • Communicate using sign language or words when interacting with peers and educators.

  • Learn the order of dressing for the outdoors and how to dress independently.

  • Learn and understand the importance of cleaning up and putting away toys when finished with them.

  •  Learn how to move through transitions calmly whether from one activity to another or from the outside in.

It is our intention that every Adventurer and Trailblazer learns and grows within our rooms, which in turn assists each and every Adventurer and Trailblazer in their transition to the Voyager or Mountaineer rooms and in their individual growth and development.
